I do use a few ReShades for screenshots - DoF is important in some cases, and enabling Path Traced lighting (raytracing if you want to be clickbaity) makes for some very nice visuals. Basically, I don't need ENB to make the game look how I want. I don't like enhanced DoF or most of the over/under-saturated ENBs out there. In my opinion, FO4's lighting engine is good enough where ENB isn't a must-have like it was in FO3/NV. I aim to max settings where possible, reduce where needed to meet the first two goals. Making sure performance doesn't drop is a good way to also keep gunplay snappy. #Fallout 4 spring cleaning vs scrap everything mods#There actually aren't many mods I currently run to change that, but what I do use will be covered. They aren't perfect, but they are the best in a Bethesda RPG to date. ![]() Fallout 4 has an advantage over previous games in that they put more focus on the combat, and had the pros over at id work on the shooter mechanics. If my GPU drops below 100% usage and FPS below 60, it becomes trickier, often troubleshooting mods to find something that breaks precombines and previs. If my GPU is fully loaded, we're all good - any drops below 60 can be solved by tweaking settings. I frequently check what is causing FPS drops. The main issue, particularly in city areas, is CPU performance and bottlenecking due to the single-threaded nature of the engine, and the way geometry culling is done (among other things - there are good resources out there if you're curious). Basically any modern GPU should have no problem with a locked 60FPS at 1440p or 4k. Fallout 4 is a messy creature when it comes to performance. All other modding goals will be subservient to this one - if it breaks stability, it's gone. Sometimes that means simply leaving some mods or combinations out, no matter how much I may want them. My first goal is for the game not to crash - quite a task in a Bethesda game. When it comes to modding Fallout 4, I have a few things that I'm targeting. #Fallout 4 spring cleaning vs scrap everything mod#While Nexus should hide them if you haven't opted in, some mod pages will be NSFW. Visit my Steam Artwork (not screenshots) section to see the results of this Frankenstein's Monster. It will cover everything I use, and my reasoning for using it. Mod at your own risk, and realize that a mod list like this - if you just clone it - will still take you several days to tweak and adjust for stability, and may not ever work identically to mine. I get asked at least a few times per day now about specific mods, so this should help answer some of those questions. This is not a guide to modding Fallout 4, it is a guide to the mods I use, often with "why" answered. Pick and choose from these mods if they interest you, and use your best judgement. Most of this was done before I knew enough about modding to know what I screwed up. I don't currently have a modded FO4 install, but I guarantee that there are problems with that load order. Im on bethesda.Brace yourselves, this is going to be a long one.īIG NOTE - The load order is crap. Now that I put up trees and other modded items, cleaning up the place further is my last goal. I've been waiting to scrap things like that for months. Wow, that's your mod? I'm definitely giving you credit once I make a modded Sanctuary upload. In addition, once I start making some new settlements down the line, they will be compatible as well. This will work for all settlements, not just one or a few. most dirt/garbage mounds, trash, hedges, brambles, bushes, etc will be scrappable. This mod will be available later today or tomorrow morning. esp in order to make them scrappable from my. I may not include weeds since there are hundreds/thoudands of them and I have to go thru each settlement cell (found these easier thanks to Spring Cleaning mod) and make a copy of the static file from the main game into the. #Fallout 4 spring cleaning vs scrap everything Ps4#Ihave bushes and such working now on a mod currently set to private on PS4 while I get the last bits setup. He said originally the mod handled bushes and weeds but something to do with the asset rules disallowed it >.> Theres already a modder who did something about skeletons and mole rat holes. ![]()
